PROOF FROM BCRT AND MNDA

Screen Shot 2014-02-12 at 14.40.12I just wanted to upload these letters of proof from two of the charities, to show that they are supporting me with this fundraising.

FINAL THREE CHARITIES..

Sense:

Deafblindness is something you may not know even exists. Having met children and adults who are Deafblind, this is a charity important to me and as much awareness they receive will do nothing but improve these individuals lives. Sense supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind. Deafblindness refers to a combination of sight and hearing impairment which causes difficulties in a range of areas including communication, access to information and mobility. Sense provide support and sensory equipment to allow people to communicate and experience difference senses. Deafblindness is not just a deaf person who cannot see, or a blind person who cannot hear. The two impairments together increase the effects of each. You may have seen an advert about Elliot over christmas. Sense has enabled him to communicate more effectively and feel senses which he has never been able to through special sensory toys.
Canine Partners: canine partners logo 300dpi (minus strapline)
Canine Partners trains dogs to assist people with tasks such as:
Opening and closing doors and cupboards
Retrieving a variety of items
helping to get undressed
pressing buttons and switches
raising the alarm in an emergency
unloading washing machines and tumble driers.
The canine partners provide practical day to day assistance with tasks that may be difficult, painful or impossible to perform. They also provide that special companionship, unconditional love and affection which is so unique to dogs.
Bone Cancer Research Trust: 1247644278869
The final charity I am supporting will be Bone Cancer Research Trust. I have chosen this charity, as they have a focused effort on providing grants towards research into a specific cancer. A cancer which is not so known about but just as devastating and less diagnosed. I know someone who died from Bone Cancer which spread around the body, and at the age of 15 myself I had a tumour on the bone of my knee. Luckily it was benign, but it dawned on me the worry that families would go through during the diagnosis process.

CHARITIES I WILL BE SUPPORTING - NEXT TWO..

Motor Neurone Disease Association:

Motor Neurone Disease is one you may or may not have heard of. It is a devastating fatal progressive disease which attacks the upper and lower motor neurones. Usually affecting people between the ages of 40-60, although younger and older cases have been diagnosed. It eventually leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, difficulties with speech, swallowing, breathing and finally brain. Motor Neurone Disease has a life expectancy of two to five years, with only 30% of patients surviving beyond five years. The MND Association provide care and fund vital research and rely on donations, which is why I had to include them in my list of charities. It is a devastating condition, which effects the whole family. One person you may know is Professor Stephen Hawking who, after being diagnosed at the age of 21 defied the two years he was given to live, which it is believed he has survived so long due to the early age he developed the disease.
National Autistic Society:

If you read the about me section, you will know that I carry out workshops for children with Autism Spectrum Conditions. Autism is such a misunderstood condition which affects how a person views the world. The National Autistic Society provide awareness, support and education to allow children and adults to thrive to their fullest potential.

CHARITIES I WILL BE SUPPORTING..

Seven Charities
So, I have lots of interests, and charities I am passionate about. I just couldn’t decide which ones to fundraise for, and although it is a lot, it just means I will have to fundraise more. The first two charities I will be supporting are:
Help For Heroes:
image

I chose Help for Heroes as i’m sure everyone is effected by the armed forces. I am sure we all know at least one person who is in one of the armed forces or know a friend of a friend who is serving. Help for Heroes give loved ones the peace of mind, that if something should ever happen to their hero, that they will be there to support them and give the armed serviceman or woman the support to get on with their life, or back into service.
Dogs Trust:

Seeing dogs being abused and abandoned breaks not only my heart, but im sure many of yours. The defenceless animals who have had a cruel life and end up at one of the Dogs Trust are the lucky ones, as the Dogs Trust will never put a healthy dog down, they are constantly in need of building new shelters for the thousands of dogs they save each year. I saved my dog from what I have no doubt that he would have been abandoned cannot imagine where he would have ended up, had I not took him home. Dogs Trust is there for the dogs we cant save, and im sure you agree do wonderful work. On a lighter note, this is Bobby, who I saved!

ME..

After creating Autisticate last year, then discovering in November that the only way which would be right for the company would be for it to become a not for profit business. Effectively becoming a Registered Charity at the first available moment. Autisticate provides schools with software development workshops for children with autism spectrum conditions, these challenge the pupils and give them another option when thinking about leaving school. Becoming a registered charity will allow me to develop this, and enable me to help children who may not have the access to further education which is suited to them, due to funds, availability or even location. The money raised from being a charity will help with those challenges and will give grants and iPad donations to children who would thrive from having access to one.
I am aiming to register Autisticate as a charity in January 2015, in which from then on, I will focus all my fundraising efforts on this. Therefore I am setting myself the challenge of completing a skydive in October 2014 to raise funds for my favourite charities.
